STUDYPATH* March 1-5, 2010

In-class assignments and class updates trump published blogs.

The Stranger comprehension quiz-Part A is due on Monday. The quiz will be completed in class and submitted by the end of the period. Students may work together using the novel to complete the test.

Five talking points per chapter for The Stranger Part II, Chapters One-Two (ten talking points) are due on Friday, March 5 for a class discussion.

Work on Shakespeare's "Sonnet 73" is continued in class with additional work on the structure of the sonnet forms. The play Macbeth begins on Tuesday as students read character dialog using the anthology.

Adventures in English Literature is also used for more study of The Growth of the English Language sections of the textbook.

Literary terms from Adventures in English Literature will be covered in class; a quiz on the first ten terms is set for Friday, March 5.

No classes are in session on Monday, February 15, Presidents' Day, a legal holiday.

Raleigh-Marlowe poetry continues in class. Adventures in English Literature texts are needed for the Growth of the English Language analysis sections of the anthology. Sonnet structures will be discussed, including the Italian, the Elizabethan, and the Spenserian forms. Work begins on Shakespeare's sonnets, particularly Sonnet 73.

The Stranger
talking points are due Friday for class discussion. Write five talking points per chapter for Chapters One, Two, and Three for Part I of the novel. Download the introduction quiz from STUDYPATH and complete it by Monday, February 22.
